Severity Rating: Important - Revision Note: V1.2 (September 19, 2007): Bulletin revised to correct file information when installing without user intervention, installing without restarting, and removal Information for Windows Media Player 7.1, 9, 10, and 11 on supported editions of Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows XP Service Pack 2 and x64 Editions.Summary: This important security update resolves two privately reported vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities could allow code execution if a user viewed a specially crafted file in Windows Media Player. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.
